Three quarters up the climb between Perry Saddle Hut and Brown Hut is the small Aorere Shelter that provides a welcome rest point or shelter from inclement weather. Fresh water is available here as well as toilet facilities.

There is no charge for children 17 years and under. However, booking is still required. Bookings Are Essential – You can book a campsite online or at a DOC visitor centre. You need to book before you start walking or mountain biking the Heaphy Track.
