Built in 1970
Situated at the Collingwood end of the Heaphy Track, Brown Hut offers a simple 16-bunk facility with wood stove and fresh water. The hut doesn’t have lighting or gas-cooking facilities, but provides a good option if you want to make an early start up the hill to Perry Saddle Hut in the morning.

There is no charge for children 17 years and under. However, booking is still required. Bookings Are Essential – You can book a hut or campsite online or at a DOC visitor centre. You need to book before you start walking or mountain biking the Heaphy Track. Campers are not permitted to use hut facilities. |
